Well its a close run thing cos i like all the Captains from Archer to Janeway...but i chose Archer simply cos i wish i was on board his ship exploring space for the first time (or rather as the 1st humans! lol)

Your not the only old fogey here now you know. As one myself, I would tend to agree with you, but I voted for Picard, I know it's from TNG, but it seems to me that Picard has a little more heart than Kirk. True he is gruff at times, but all in all he has more of an understanding for his crew and command staff. He seems to interact a little better and understands how they feel when they are having trouble with their jobs. Janeway is good, and being a Female ship's Captain, handles the pressure very well..

I love captain sisko, he was very passionate about his work. Kirk was always too busy having sex with green women, piccard was too old, and Janeway got her damn crew stranded! Oh, and the less said about Archer, the better

seems that all the captains are bad to you except sisko. if you want some faults about him(even though he is my fav) he is too wrapped up in himself if you know what I mean!

I would have to say Picard with a tie of Janeway, Archer and Kirk.
Just b/c how he acted in the series. Where he tried to be too serious and was easily made fun of. lol

Janeway all the way  shes the best captain cause she always treats the crew on a personal level likley because of there "predicament" in the delta quadrent ive seen her hug crewmembers givei personal advice et. shes a verry peoples person and as for 2nd Picard although he was the verry distant captain (complete opositye of Janeway) but he was good, experianced and allways always thought everything through
Archer carnt say much hes a good captain i supose but he dosnt seem like the comand figure
sisko is pationate like picard but he dosnt seem prepared to face the danjour personaly
Kirk well im puttin Kirk last sorry Surok but hes irrosponsible alwaya of having sex with green women as our freind says hes two cocky and donst seem to take his job seriousley enough, however his devotion to peace and the Federation seemed true enough

I definatly have to go with Janeway. She is always out in the front doing what needs to be done, not sitting in her ready room, telling other people to do it. She is a friendly person who doesn't mind hanging out with her crew, but knows when she has to stop being buddies and be the Captain.
